Artist's Animal Rights Expression Through Art

Mariana Cerovecki is dedicated to animal rights and utilizes her expression through art as a medium for raising awareness.

"To know what is right, you need to see what is wrong"

slaves_by_Mariana_Cerovecki.jpgMy goal is to show you what's wrong.

Through art I want to spread awareness and bring the animal rights issues on a higher level, more exposed, more visible, more - direct.

I want to make the invisible things visible, I want people to feel the pain and suffering that animals go through everyday, I want them to realize that they are a part of the problem, the problem which I try to explain in my artwork. Once you see the reality of the way we treat animals today, you can start being a part of the solution - by simply boycoting any form of animal exploatation.

Whether it is a picture, poem or a sculpture, my goal is to raise my voice for those who cannot speak for themselves.

In a world that is built on destruction, I feel that –art- is to create something – without destroying it – and what I want to create is a better and fair world for all, a world without slavery, death of millions of animals, a world without speciesism. And how better to create “that something” then through art – which has always been the ground of creating, getting reactions and making a change.

I became a vegetarian when I was 10 and a vegan when I was 13, it was one video that made me realize all the horror that happens to animals, and now I hope that my work will have the same effect on others - open your eyes, make the connection, go vegan.

rltencey about chimps involved in AIDS research when that apparently meant long-term recent, as in 12 years ago or so. Is anyone here in support of the Great Ape Protection Act, by the way?
