Recycled and re-used newsprint on canvas. This is the first in a series of collage created at the beginning of my artistic journey and was in its own way a method of disposing of a load of old newspaper and cuttings, that had somehow survived being thrown away during numerous clear outs. I would never have thought in the time I had this material it would ever be turned into a piece of art or for for that matter several pieces of work and would have laughed at anyone who suggested so. This piece of work explores a wide range of experience in the human condition and society in which we live. It is peppered with celebrities, sex, sportsmen and people of not some of them great others not so. It is auto-biographical, spiritual and above all requires us to look deeply into the work and ascertain just who is being portrayed there. Can you name them all, how does it make you feel and is this guy telling the truth or is it just fantasy?
