Chiaroscuro Profile Portrait
Ink, oil and color on gesso over canvas on wood panel. An earlier version of this painting, now lost – although still in circulation as an image on the internet – was used as the basis of a number of prints. This chiaroscuro version better exploits the strong geometric design of the kimono and obi. Signed with a catalog number verso.
