Gianluca Citi Art
My artistic work,
it has a lot to do with contemporaneity.
The choice of materials, such as packaging cardboard, is a choice that concerns the use of a poor material.
Recycled, into a work of art,
places my work in this precise era in which we live,
today it seems trivial, but in a few years, when the materials change, this will be like a signature.
The cardboard panels I use are not cheap, and are mounted on very solid wood frames, in any case as robust as and more than a high quality fine art canvas.
the outer edge is about 4 cm high, and is lined with multi-wave cardboard, so it does not need a frame to hang.
Even the enamels that I use to paint, are assuredly among the best and most resistant that exist, they are industrial enamels for external painting, I have been using them for more than 20 years, and the paintings I did 20 years ago and more, are as brilliant as the first day.
In my subjects, I paint young tattooed women, gray urban landscapes, illuminated by splendid works of street art.
And intertwining hands that describe loneliness, and the need for love.
