Lucid Dreaming by Dawn Rodger
An oil painting of serene waves in a tranquil ocean, with dolphins cresting the surface of the water in the far distance. Here, the water evokes a sense of tranquillity and harmony. It is a reminder of the wonder and strength of nature, and the necessity of treasuring our environment. To me, the ocean symbolises the subconscious and slumber. The variety of weather conditions reflect the multitude of stories and emotions held within the dreaming mind.
This painting is ready to hang, as the painting continues onto the sides of the canvas and is varnished to protect the paint surface from UV light and dust. It is signed on the front, and a catalogued certificate of authenticity is attached to the reverse. For safe delivery, the artwork will be carefully packaged and shipped fully insured via a tracked courier.
This is an original one-off artwork painted with artist grade oil paints and metallic pigments on hand-stretched triple primed canvas. I don't release prints of my work as I believe they can't quite offer the same presence that comes from the physicality of the painting as an object on a wall. The light falls differently on the textures and glazes on its surface that can only be seen in the original.
