I have often painted the two trees that stood together like an old married couple in the neighbouring field. There was a harmony in the way their forms were shaped by the presence of each other. Sadly one tree was blown down in a recent storm. The other remains as the solitary and stoic magical guardian of the landscape and its inhabitants.
The painting was recently shown at the prestigious 100th Annual Exhibition for the Westward Ho! & Bideford Art Society at The Burton Gallery, Devon, U.K.
The picture has been painted using high quality oil paints on a square stretched canvas. The painting continues around the sides of the canvas and it comes with appropriate fixings ready to hang straight onto your wall.
This is an original one-off artwork. I don't release prints of my work as I believe they can't quite offer the same presence that comes from the physicality of the painting as an object on a wall as the light falls differently on the textures and glazes.
A coat of varnish has been applied to protect the painted surface from dust and UV light. The work is signed on the front and a catalogued certificate of authenticity is attached to the back. The artwork will carefully packaged and sent fully insured via a tracked courier.
