Another experiment. What would happen if I painted on some colours for the background (on a canvas) THEN sketched in my subject, accentuating only the dark and light tones. Why not use fluorescent green instead of white? What else could I add? Some fish! The one at the bottom had to be muted, as he drew the eye down. And, I purposely broke the rule of having all the subjects look in. In having them look / swim away, I created another mood of fed-upness; that the feminine angel fish wants no more to do with the masculine man and his muscle. This acrylic is 24″x30″
