When I lived in San Francisco, I loved to walk the city. It rained mostly in winter. It didn’t happen very often, but when it happened, it could rain for many days in a row. Anyhow, I loved walking the city streets during rain. I took a large umbrella and enjoyed the fresh air. Sometimes I stopped in a cafe and watched passers by in the window, as I sipped my coffee and thought about my next painting . San Francisco rain is very special theme for me, which is why I was inspired to create this painting.

This is not the first painting with this man walking in the rain. I painted this same scene in 2016, in a different style. That painting was sold and found new home. When this painting finds new home, I may continue the sequence.
