An impressionistic oil painting of a lighthouse shrouded in sea mist on stretched canvas.
Lighthouses have always represented hope and comfort for me. They have a concreteness and resilience; a fixed point of certainty amid shifting seas, sands and weather. These beacons started to appear subconsciously in my work whilst a friend’s brother was gravely ill.
I used lilacs and quiet grey shades in this painting to try to describe the soft damp mist that clings to you as you crunch across a deserted beach in the early morning.
This picture has been painted on the sides and presented in a black stepped floater frame. A coat of varnish has been applied to protect the paint surface. The work is signed on the front. An indexed certificate of authenticity is attached to the back. My artworks are carefully packaged and sent fully insured via a tracked courier.
