I believe the red of the skirt of the Guo Pei outfit balances the heavy grey stonework of the ancient temple. I loved the light shining in on the detail behind the pillars in the original photograph and felt driven to capture it no matter what the challenge. The gold atop the pillars balances the gold on the bra top and waist band of the model. Mostly, this is done in acrylic paint, and on rag paper measuring 15″x11″. I’ve also used chalk pastel, especially on the triangular roof, and some gold pen. And, of course, glaze. The piece is unframed for easy shipping.
