“Eye Candy”—A photographer couldn’t ask for a better place to live than the Oregon coast for unrivalled photo opportunities. The Oregon coast is surrounded by eye candy everywhere you look! I started my Fine Coastal Art business, “Photos from The Coast”, to incorporate my award winning photography with my passion for creative expression and love of the Oregon Coast. Lighting is extremely important to me. I enjoy angle and line as well. As you come south from Newport you see things starting to open up and the light is freer to hit things. All the way from beach grass that glistens in the sunlight, to the ocean waves with light creating color when streaming through saltwater. Sharing the incredible natural beauty of the Oregon Coast; in image, texture, color and pattern is my passion which stems from growing up surrounded by artists and writers. I am the granddaughter of novelist Mildred Walker. My mother, Ripley Hugo, was an established author in her own right. My stepdad was the world renowned Northwest poet Richard Hugo. And my brother, Matthew Hansen was making a name for himself as a writer before passing away in his early 20s. I minored in Liberal Arts, studied, danced and performed ballet and began my photographic career; photographing creative writing workshops in the Rocky Mountains in the 1980s. On my professional website I offer Fine Coastal Art available as high quality prints on metal and canvas. My favorite venue outlet for my award winning photos is to display my fine quality work as 24” X 36” (or larger) prints that reveal light, vivid color and detail.
