Impressions of Zion Brings Vibrant New Life to Zion’s Iconic Landscapes

Almost 3 million people visit Zion National Park annually, surrounding themselves in iconic panoramas of steep red cliffs and vibrant valleys. The National Park Service works tirelessly to preserve this natural scenery and maintain the wondrous sites for generations to come. Zion’s onsite museum has historically brought together artists that are equally passionate about their mission; this year Impressions of Zion features the works of famed contemporary impressionist Erin Hanson and popular Utah native Royden Card.

Any fan of Erin Hanson will be familiar with her love of Zion’s stark panoramas, vibrant rock formations, lush landscapes, and extreme biodiversity. Zion’s natural landscape is laid out as if it were made for Erin’s decisive brush strokes and love for color. Within Impressions of Zion you can expect Hanson to pull from her unique view of nature and multi-day backpacking explorations to tell her own story of our beautiful National Park. This summer exhibition offers an exceptional opportunity to see Hanson’s Zion while surrounded by the beauty of Zion itself.

About Erin Hanson: ERIN HANSON is a life-long painter, beginning her study of oils as a young child. Her passion for natural beauty is seen in her work as she transforms vistas familiar and rare into stunning interpretations of bold color, playful rhythms, and raw emotional impact. About Zion National Park: ZION NATIONAL PARK is a southwest Utah nature preserve distinguished by Zion Canyon’s steep red cliffs. Zion Canyon Scenic Drive cuts through its main section, leading to forest trails along the Virgin River. The river flows to the Emerald Pools, which have waterfalls and a hanging garden. Also along the river, partly through deep chasms, is the Zion Narrows wading hike.
