There are stories behind every brushstroke—stories of love, loss, and the search for belonging. My name is Paul, and my journey as an artist began in the mangroves of Miami, where my mother, Gabrielle Santina, first taught me to see the world through an artist’s eyes. She was a woman of mystery and resilience, abandoned as a child but determined to create beauty wherever she went. Together, we searched for pirate bottles among the roots and shadows, collecting fragments of history and memory.

After losing my mother, I was uprooted from the sunlit chaos of Florida to the quiet fields of Vermont, where my half-sister Marlene and her Italian family welcomed me into a new world. These early experiences—of displacement, adaptation, and the enduring strength of women—became the foundation of my art.

Today, through Little Saint Art, I create portraits, mythic scenes, and landscapes that honor the women who shaped me and the stories that connect us all. My work is a celebration of resilience, transformation, and the beauty that emerges from hardship.
